James Ian McCarron passed away suddenly on October 1, 2025 in Winnipeg at the age of 75 years.
He is predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Charlotte McCarron and in-laws, William and Olga Komarnycky.
Ian is survived by his wife, Lesia McCarron and his two sons, Jeffrey (Gabriela) and Michael, and grandchildren, Noah and Misha.
He leaves to mourn his sisters, Maureen Gretchen (Winnipeg), Hilda (Ed) Gluting (Stonewall), and Bruce McCarron (Edmonton); as well as nieces and cousins.
Married in 1973 at St. Mary the Protectress Cathedral, Ian was active in many organizations including singing with the church choir, a member of Crime Stoppers for many years, Treasurer for St. Mary the Protectress Brotherhood, Bookkeeper for St. Mary the Protectress Villa, representative for Camp Veselka Trailer Park and helped with fundraising with St. Mary’s Brotherhood and Camp Veselka.
A private family service will be held.
The family would like to thank everyone for their calls, messages, visits and thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Many thanks to the Noseworthy Family and to the different organizations that he served on. A sincere thank-you to Dr. T. Babick for the care given to Ian over the years.
